Photo Contest

Your photo should evoke the
Spirit of Horse,
as you feel it.
Also, tell us in less than 125 words why your horse is an exceptional spirit,
healer, partner, friend, teacher, or therapy horse, etc.
Include a brief (25 words or less) biographical
or business description and contact information (subject to
approval and editing).
I have received many wonderful photos that were
too fuzzy, unfocused, too small to enlarge, sent too compressed to
enlarge well, or shot with a low resolution camera or setting. It was
too bad, some of them were otherwise great photos of wonderful horses.
Your photo should be clear and well
focused, unless your artistic intent is otherwise. Photos must
enlarge and print well. Preferably, your photo should be
200 dpi. Do
not send thumbnail photos, very small photos or very small photo sizes.
(On the other hand, don't send me a photo file so huge it will
crash the sysytem, either.)
In sending jpeg photos, send the
least compressed photo you can. Digital photos shot with a 5
megapixel or above camera, set on a fine resolution setting
should do well. With care and attention, many other cameras do just
fine, too.
Finalists will be published on an
occasional basis with your credit.
The
Horse of the Year winner
will be published on the Home page of the December issue,
along with your biographical biographical and contact information,
subject to editing.
With your submission, you agree that your photo,
written material and/or artwork, subject to editing, may appear on materials
and merchandise including, but not limited to, a calendar and
other items.

Equus Spirit cannot offer monetary compensation for accepted
photo or art submissions. All published photos in Equus Spirit online
magazine will be
credited.
*Unless you make other
written arrangements with Equus Spirit in advance, upon
submission of your material to Equus Spirit, you assign nonexclusive world rights
to your submitted photo, artwork, written and/or other material across all media,
products, services, and any and all other uses of your submission to Equus Spirit. 'Nonexclusive' means you are free to continue
to publish and use your
piece in other publications and venues.
